Thanks....not used forums before and i only realised after i had wrote it.
Regarding tablet im in two minds as she already has a Samsung galaxy 2...so really it wouldnt be much different, just bigger screen and better quality.
Nexus is £200.00 so i dont want to be paying more than £100.00 for ereader.
So am i right to assume nook/kobo use e-pub?

But, to summarise again: a tablet is not dedicated e-reader. For that you need a device with an e-ink screen (i.e not a Nexus 7 or similar small tablets which use LED screens).
As for choosing an e-reader, you need to decide if you want to be locked into Amazon's proprietary file system, or use e-pub (as do all the other providers).
The advantage of a tablet is that it can do far more than just display e-books.

Everything except Kindle uses e-pub.
Correct, if she already has a large screen smartphone, then a 7" tablet is going to be duplication.No free lunch, and no free laptop
