Best of luck, Cazzy! Don't be a stranger over here :) will try and keep up with your progress as best I can. I have to agree though, signature goals just don't do it for me, no idea why!

And not nosey at all Wuvvies :) Job No 1 is 15 hours a week I work for the family company. It's a mixture of mind numbing data input and I've also started managing the accounts which I love! I've been there for 5 years this March which has pretty much flown by. Job No 2 is working the reception on a new company, and that's pretty exciting as it's run so differently from my family company on so many levels. I do anything from 10 to 21+ hours a week with them. I also clean for my Grandparents every Friday, and do the odd scrap run for extra money. Anything to keep the wolf from the door!

Slept in relatively late for me this morning. 9:30! Madness! And despite spending all day cleaning, taking care of Ryder and having people over I'm still freakishly wired, ended up watching the oddest Stephen King movie on telly because of it! Still mulling over my January goals, but whenever I figure them I'm going to put them in the same post as my yearly goals. Just to keep it all neat. But I have a feeling I'm close to settling on it!

the reason i ask is until recently i had three jobs (and three kids!!) one was 15 hours a week in a school kitchen, one was 8 hours a week on a reception in a leisure centre and the third was 3 hours a week on reception in a local business centre. sooooo much uniform to wash so much running around. i then applied for a new position which i got and have been doing for about 6 months. i work in a school kitchen and do about 25 hours. i have given up the other two jobs. i will be short of money but i was so stressed and never had time for anything. my husband works loads of hours - always more than 55 a week and he was coming home and tidying the house as i didnt have time to do it. i felt so bad and to top it all he never moaned. now i just have the one job and my house is spotless and the kids have me in half terms etc and in the evenings i can help with homework etc. it all fits in really well. im very lucky. ( Didnt feel lucky when i was walking round the sales and realised i did not have a penny to spend. im on a very strict budget but life is much better)

Oh no, it's definitely stressful! Feels like you're working so much more than you actually are, and it's double the amount of people you don't want to let down. What really gets me though is not getting housework done, I tried to explain to OH that it's a massive sense of relief to go to work and know the house is spotless. Where as if its messy all I can think is "I have such and such to do when I get home". Thankfully cleaning and walking Ryder are the things that massively de-stress me so I'm more than happy to spend my little breaks on my busiest days just seeing to that. Living with the motto of "live like no one else so later you can live like no one else" but there are days I just want to cancel it all and shut the world out.

My second job are wanting to give me more hours, possibly take me on salary and give me a secure job. And although it would upset me to leave the family company, mainly because of my Dad, I'd grab it in an instant as it would be a lot less stress! But I still feel lucky, jobs around here are pretty few and far between. It took me 18 months of searching to find my second job, and that only really happened because it fell into my lap with them renting from my first job!

Finding it impossible to get out of bed before 9am at the minute. I've really only got 2 days left of my Christmas/New Year break so I figure I should be making the most of it! It's been lovely having OH home and having the time to actually see family and friends but I'm looking forward to getting life back to normal after next week. As tiring as it is!

So it's the last day of the year and we've got zilch planned! I'm still fighting my corner for a trip to the peaks tomorrow but its falling on deaf ears. I do have my goals set for January though, which is pretty nice:
    • Keep a spending diary.
    • Aim for 15 NSDs.
    • Get EM savings up to £500.
    • Save money separately for at least 6 months road tax.
  • Sounds like some great aims for the new year Cinny. Really need to get on top of mine I think.

Happy New Year's Eve Cinny! Good luck with the job offer, I hope it comes through for you. And hope you get your trip to the peaks too!

What did you see at the cinema? Its so expensive these days isn't it? I met up with some friends for our annual 'quiz of the year' (something of a geek fest) and they all said they couldn't believe how well I looked, so that cheered me up :) Other than that I am starting to get cabin fever slightly!

I would say good luck with your January goals too but I'm confident you have it in the bag!

We went to see Jack Reacher, I would say it's better than expected but I had zero expectations! Tickets are crazy though, I'm sure they were only around £7 when we last went but they were £8.60  Even though we had our giftcard so it wasn't really out of our pocket I was a bit flabbergasted. When we go next we'll be taking advantage of their early bird and 10% online discount offers for sure! We were tempted to go see The Hobbit in IMAX. Just to say we've done it but it was £23  So noooo thanksss.

Can understand you getting cabin fever though, poor you! How much longer until you'll be able to get about a bit easier? Hope you had a good New Years. Any plans for 2013? :)

Sure you'll get your plans sorted Ruby! Really need to catch up on yours and everyone elseseses threads!

Popped to the outlet today, I really really needed some new work tops so I spent £18 in Next and got 3 lovely tops and one lovely £2 dress fell into the basket too. Should be set for a while now!

99% confident I'll be taking Ryder to the vets tomorrow. He's cut his paw pad pretty badly and the bleeding - although has lessened a lot - just won't fully stop. Our vets are closed today and I couldn't get hold of any others around here so we've been keeping it cleaned and covered the best we can. I really think he'll need stitches or something :( Thankfully it's only £19 for a consultation and with the emergency fund we won't be scratting around in a panic. But I feel so bad for him, OH has gone out for the night so I've brought him through and he's just laid infront of me looking so pathetic. Poor bear :(

Aww poor Ryder, hope he gets sorted today and feels better. :)

The cinema is so blooming expensive isn't it?! I love going but just can't afford to go half as often as I used to! :(
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

Aww hope Ryder is getting sorted as we speak, I'd be gutted if anything like that happened to Magic :(

As for the cinema, I recently used a certain mobile phone companies priority package to get free tickets for the cinema! I went to see the twilight film, and when I got there the poor cinema worker said the tickets weren't allowed to be used for a film with top billing! I was clever before hand and checked the terms and conditions, it didn't state anywhere that it wasn't to be used for this film, but should have done! Well it took 10 mins, but the manager eventually let my friend and I in for free! So check terms and conditions very carefully......
