Ebay / PayPal address different

Hi
I always post to the address on 'View Order Details' on ebay but last week someone on here said it's best to check PayPal address and send it to that one- now I can't find that thread so I'm checking please because suddenly I have that problem.

If the Ebay and PayPal address is different which one should I send it to? I have emailed the buyer, at PayPal and Ebay and had no response yet.

If this is a problem why can't Ebay/PayPal link it so it can't be different? Everything else seems to be linked

Thank you

You should always post to the Paypal address not the Ebay one. Paypal are the ones offering seller and buyer protection not Ebay.

Not sure why they're not linked but Ebay having your address is really only so they can check your location when you set up your account. All transactions involving cash use the Paypal address.

I'd email them saying that their Ebay and Paypal addresses are different, but you have to send it to the Paypal one, so can they confirm by Sunday which is correct.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

I package for a major ebay firm and we always post to the Paypal address, 20% of the time Paypal addy is different to Ebay. But, you always send to Paypal addy and there is no need to query with the buyer, as ebay say to post to the Paypal address always. If you have messaged the buyer you may need to wait until they respond, as you have given them an option, if you want to speed thing's up, usually in my ebay you can click on the sales record number and it will have their home/work or mobile number and you can give them a quick call to clarify, it's worth noting if you send to any address other than the Paypal address, you not covered by Paypal protection. We have to refund any buyer who asks for an item to be sent to an ebay address or an address supplied in an ebay message that differs from the Paypal address due to fraud. Hope this helps:)

We do that too, but only if we were sending the item tracked or the request didn't sound right. If the item is not valuable and isn't going tracked it doesn't make too much difference where you send it. For smaller value items we self insure and don't bother with certificates of posting. I know some are more paranoid about how they send.

I would check with Ebay Live help and also the buyer. It may be that the buyer has moved from one address and not updated.

As above really: If you send to any other address other than that provided by Paypal, then you invalidate any protection from paypal, so always send it to the address Paypal expressly tell you to.

In cases where eBay shows a different address, I would advise against contacting the buyer, for the simple reason that if you despatch early, without communicating with a buyer, your comms DSR is protected and defaults to 5 stars. However, the minute you start communicating with a buyer, the buyer is able to leave a rating for your communication and that won't necessarily be a 5 star rating!

Personally, I keep all my paypal payment emails for a couple of months, so if there is any problem, (along with the certificate of postage), I can demonstrate to the buyer, Paypal and Royal Mail/A N Other that I sent the item to exactly the address instructed.
