Ha! Please don't beat yourself up about this though... in life you learn from your mistakes, you wont be the last person to do this!
Have a good christmas.:beer:0 -
You too - I am trying to counter the guilt with the thought of being able to help others through this thread. I searched and read for ages before I pucked up the courage to do something. Hopefully this post can show that in less than a week, and all by yourself, you really can lift that weight from your shoulders.
Merry Christmas everyone!Smiling and waving0 -
Hi
Just want to say I am in a similar situation and cannot pay my payday lenders anymore.
I have asked by bank to stop the continuous card payments and they say they cannot! I even quoted the regulations and asked to speak to a senior member of staff and they still said they could not and the only way was to cancel my debit card which I have done.
I am furious the banks are not sticking to the law! I will complain..
Now just to deal with the actual lenders

Idiot you are not !
I didn't want to read and run, I only recently found this part of the forum and find it really enlightening reading - and a really strong encouragement to stay on the straight and narrow. (I too have learnt this from some past mistakes.)
You sound really focussed and determined, I admire your tenacity and hard work to get things on a good footing. All the very best, and I have to echo the 'don't beat yourself up' message. You are getting firmly to grips with the situation you are in, where many others before you have compounded their problems by burying heads in the sand.
Good luck with it and recognise what you have achieved. Have a good crimbo, well armed with the lessons you have learnt.:beer:0 -
Fookat - Good luck. If eeded, just moved your money or change your pay date with the PDL's to the day after your actual to give you a chance to withdraw.
Jo91 - thanks for the encouragement!
Everyone else - swift sterling gone, cancelled so didnt pay any charges
I also have borrowed £200 off family to clear 1 of the lending streams in December and save myself £500 interest in the next 6 months.
Merry Christmas all xSmiling and waving0 -
Hi Everyone,
Hope you had a fab christmas and great start to the new year. Its been a while so I thought I would provide an update to anyone in my situation hoping this string may help,
Updates below in blue....
QQ - have been great. Have agreed to 1 months interest meaning 4 monthly payments of £375 and this will be cleared. I have made 1 payment, so 3 to go. I recheduled this to a more affordable £206 monthly. 1 down, 4 to go.
Wonga - agreed to £39 Monthly - 1 down 9 to go 2 down 8 to go
Wage Day advance have agreed to 3 payments of £86 starting end of Dec. Amended this to a more affordable £58 monthly. 1 down, 4 to go
This is where the good news ends; More good news... :T:T:j
I am awaiting responses from
PayDay Express I owe £967 ( including interest ) Agreed £100 Monthly, 1 down, 8 and a bit to go
I have not yet contacted;
Pounds Access who I owe £160 ( inlcluding interest ) This is paid off

Mr Lender £520 ( including interest ) I have made the initial payment of £120 and have 8 payments of £50 to pay
Lending Stream £680 excluding interest - this is a 6 month loan
Well, this was the one I was dreading, i needed not. I made one simple call and have arranged a schedule of £100 a month for the balance. Admittedly the have added on this months interest, but all future interest and charges are frozen and have requested 1st payment on 1st of March giving me 1 months grace:j:j
I also am behing with my council tax by about £300 2 payments of £165 left for the year and my balance will be £0 1 month early
I have missed a payment on my Credit Card with Vanquis £138 and I am sure this will now take me over my limit Resolved - charges applied have been refunded and BAU from 1st Feb of £138
I also owe Npower around £500 and have moved supplier I have not contacted these guys yet, but I will set something up at the end of the month
Anyway lovely people, hope this help, it sure is theraputic for me! :rotfl:Smiling and waving0 -
Great thread and well done. Have a friend in a similar position so will be doing the same if possible!
In terms of the monthly payments, are these taken automatically by lenders like Wonga once agreed, or do you pay manually? Did you confirm this in writing or just over the phone?
Thanks
