Make sure you book your train seats as well at the same time.

We have had some very bad experiences with crosscountry en route to Southampton central. As its 3 hours at least from us rather than risk having problems we tend to the night before and stay overnight - usually premier inn at West Quay but Etap (now Ibis budget ) is clean and functional, newly revamped and you can get rooms for as little as £29, dinner at ikea and breakfast at McDonald's next door

Hi folks, bit of a lurker here.

I live a quiet life in rural Scotland and don't get to the shops often enough to get all the glitches, but I have had some and am very grateful. What I do appreciate on here is the community spirit. I've joined in the day to day lives of all the posters, the good times and the hard times. I've learned wee tricks for use on the ipad, I've heard about TV series that are worth watching, as well as all the bargains to be had. So just wanted to say thanks to you all! :j:j

I'd like to wish everyone a great christmas, if you're on your own, spoil yourself, and if you've got kids, savour the bedlam cos they soon grow up. Just have a good time everyone and hugs from me to those who so especially need them at this time.:santa2::santa2::santa2:

Hi BarleySugar, nice to see you posting and great that you have been able to benefit from the glitches etc. It's great how this thread can help people with various things from shopping to tv and now train travel :D

If worst comes to worst, just lean it in the corner :o

Alot of years back when I was on my own with first 2 sons, I made the mistake of getting a 'big' tree. I tried bricks in a bucket, then added damp sand
In the end I found some baler twine in the shed and had to attach the tree to two beams. Even then, it seemed to lean backwards into the corner but did stay put

Veggies all prepped, ham cooked, trifle done. Do I want to go for whoopsies, errrrr no  my freezer is chocka  I can't even get one of my iced cocktails to fit in

Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.

Hugs and healing thoughts are always going your way.
