Well I had an eventfull week, had a great time with my family, had a couple of lovely nights out, met some honest to goodness people, got off the bus from Ards in the middle of a wee riot.
And of course did some shopping so I could leave some FF there, the two bags of shopping cost me, after APG was just over a quid.
Oh and OH managed two wombles, 2X£5 off £40 and £3.56.
All in a fantastic week, exhausted and off to list some stuff on E Bay.
Love your Mum, you'll never get another one when she's gone.

  • So no more self-scanning for me then! DTD too good to miss out on. Nothing to stop you using the scanner as an individual handheld price-checker though?? What if you scan it all and then don't buy at the s-s tills but go to a manned one instead? Any consequences??

I was self scanning for the first time tonight and picked up the leaflet.
My interpretation of it was if you pick up a scanner you have to complete your shop through the self scan thing (not multiple shop) but after you have replaced your scanner after your shop you can go back round without one if you wish. I suppose you either make notes while scanner in hand or take someone with you to do other dtd shop through normal tills. I would think this is the time a second cc comes in handy so you can keep one just for dtd which you never register with the scanner.

Sorry if already answered but not caught up tonight yet.

    Evening all :D

    Updates for the NI crew

    - typical, now they're not glitching I found the Ferrero Trees in B'gor facing the till
    - CAPTAINBLONDECHICK you are a gem. 1 Sally Hansen, a few fillers up to £10 and a few pennies. £2 off £10 coupon. £9 instant PP :D
    - Patty, thanks for the tip re the M&S coupons. I relieved them of some today ;)
    - Leothecat thank you for the tip for the Real Food mags. Relieved that store of a few ;)
    - S'hill full of trouts. Was served by TiT who then called Mega Trout for the conditional spend coupon I had (store issued, not a Sada one). TiT then went higher up the food chain to Supreme Trout to query the £3 diary coupon. It's scary that the customers know the T&Cs better than the staff. Even when you show staff the competitor coupon leaflet they still query it and even when computer says yes for coupons, they lie through their teeth. Still, it was all worth it :D

So all you lovely Elite, what's the best way to store cheese as I may have bought a few blocks? I know grating is the way to go but what to store it in - tupperware, freezer bag or something else? Thanking you :T

All quiet this neck of the woods but for those near the hot spots, stay safe and hope it all calms down soon.

i gr8t up in to portions and bag in freezer bags and push in freezer around all the other stuff if i put in tub it wuld take too much valuable space lol:o

You sound like one of my old maths lecturers. He couldn't stand all the hype around the millenium celebrations because everyone was celebrating the wrong date!

Hope everyone has had a good day, just a quick post before I settle down to watch X Factor. Just wanted to say thanks to a few people and I'll catch up with the thread during the breaks :)

Patty - thanks for letting us know about the M&S 'fivers'. Picked up a few at a ss till. Tried one in Mr T but till wouldn't accept it. May be because I didn't hand sa the voucher first and my balance was less than £35 by the time he had gone through all my MOCs, I'll try again, if not I'll have a look in M&S and see if there's anything I fancy :D

mhoc - thanks for telling us about the mishaps in Home Bargains. I bought a few bags and they are lush! I ate half a bag on the way home from shopping this afternoon and felt sick. My own fault, my hand wouldn't stop helping itself from the bag :D

mishaps - I picked up the paper trimmer you recommended. Can't wait to try it out but think I'm going to have to fight DH to use it first, he's got it out of the box already :rotfl:

Jan.t, Snap-ant, Bootsalebargains and I think Locarr and sorry if I've missed anyone else out - thanks to all you guys for the heads up on the 4p underwear. I had DH going through all the Trunks and Vests to find any sub £8. He found 4 bless him. Took them all through ss (no scanner) with some full price cat treats in case the alarms went off (I had visions of police sirens outside the store lol). One went through at 4p, the others went through at full price at £6 each so he paid for them all then went straight to cust serv for a refund on the full price ones - all by himself. He took great pride in telling me that there were no trouts in sight :rotfl:. Don't think these ones have been reported yet - the ones he got were the Jersey Trunks (3 pack of white / grey / black. BC ends 06500. Size small - small???? they're obviously going to have to go as a stocking filler for someone else then :D

Sorry can't remember who suggested about the sealed pot challenge. I think it's a fab idea and will defo sign up to this. Had a look on our thread for OP but can't find them. Someone also suggested that 99p store has the money tins so I thought I'd get one of them. However, found one for 59p in Home Bargains which is great so well pleased.

tweets so sorry to hear you're down bless you. Hope your heating is now fixed, I need to catch up so only saw your original post. Big Hugs xxx :):):):)

Don't worry tweets, nothing about being thick in there. We are all looking for the slightest discrepancy in how things compare and I'd rather try to pick the bones out of 10 'possibles' from tired posters than miss the beauty that was AAU's from a few days ago. Keep looking!!:D:D
