Tinyshoes has two of these mixes in the oven tonight in one big cake tin. :D

Would never have paid £6 each but 13p each felt rather MSE. :rotfl:

I only ever found one Mary Berrys at around £2, there were none left in my store when they reduced further.

If any cooks are up how long do you think I should cook the combined 2kg mix in a 9 inch cake tin for? The 1kg mix should have gone in a 7 inch tin for 2 1/2 hours.

Me too, been watching again with interest even though hubby was settled for the night and had no intention of taking me to Asda!:rotfl:

Don't know tbh, have you any foil to drape over if it starts getting a bit dark?:)

Are you going to ice it?:)

I did that last year with the Mary Berry cake and sat up really late with it in the oven;)I'm not the best cake cook but I'd stick a knife in it a 3.5 hours to see how its doing:)

If I was to guess, I would have put it on a slightly lower temp for 31/2

It is covered with greasproof paper and the tin is lined with it couple inches higher than the tin. And the outside is wrapped with brown paper tied with string (actually very MSE there, brown paper = cut to size Primark bag. :rotfl:)

I hope to marzipan and ice it but might not get round to it until after xmas and it won't be anything fancy. ;)
