Just was thinking yesterday about someone who used to post on here and I can't remember his name. He was always really good at the quiz but lost his job. Things were tough but his neighbour offered him a job working for him which he accepted and loved. Don't know why I got to thinking of him but can anyone remember his name. It was in the summer I think....

    Morning all

Barely slept a wink last night, I grind my teeth in my sleep and woke up in absolute agony. I did have a bite guard but when I was living with my mum and dad my brother saw my sparkly red box for it and thought it was something my dad had found at work so threw it out, guard and all!
My dentist said I could only get one free one on NHS so would have to pay over £100 for a new one and at the time I couldn't afford that so left it, mainly because I wasn't in pain but will now have to go back to see if I still have to pay that amount. The worst thing about it is I hate dentists, I only went before because I knew DH would be just outside waiting on me, that and my old one used to knock me out for everything but this new one refuses to. She claims that by doing that it prolongs the fear, I must admit though that the first time I saw her she replaced 7 fillings and I got through it ok :o

Oh, this rings lots of bells for me!!
When I was in my twenties I had a lot of neuralgia and saw the hospital orthodontist who prescribed a guard.
One night in agony at the pain it caused, I sat up and slung it as far as I could.
We think it went behind the fitted furniture as it was never seen again!!!
The good bit is they now think it was my impacted wisdom teeth as well and it settled down in time (took some years but I'm pretty old now).
I bought a new one last week for my dd2 and it cost 62.50. but they did give me a form to try to claim it back if you are on a low income. hth

Morning:)feeling much better this morning a day in bed in the warm yesterday seemed to do the trick .Its very mild this morning so a little walk out to the local shops for me today.

3dogs have been thinking about you along with others who are spending their first christmas without their DH including all the soldiers wives hugs to you all:A

Glad that you are feeling better, Nanny. It may be milder but you still need to wrap up warmly. Maybe one of your 4p scarves may help. Agree with your last sentiments wholeheartedly.

Would a mouth guard you can buy from sports shops help?

I don't know, the one I had was a bit like a retainer, it 'hooked' around my back wisdom teeth so it stayed in while I was asleep but at the minute I'd try anything, thanks I'll give it a go tonight. Now to go buy one, I think I got DS one for hockey at sports direct which is very lucky because I'll be passing one this morning :D
