I had the same problem as you, both beef joints exactly the same (same farmer and herd of cows on the label) finest topside joints. The joints I picked up did not show 1/2 price price, but were in with the joints were stickered as such (mine were £11.96 kg).
There were two SEL's £5.98 and £11.96, I went through checkout and was charged full price, and that was when the fun began.
Went to CS and assistant manager was called, it said they were different cuts of meat? the ones you have picked up are large joasting joints and pointed to the correct SEL which stated large roasting joints £11.96. I replied they are the same joints, in fact the ones 1/2 price ones were twice as big and still needed to be roasted! The best they could do was to give the joints at 1/2 price, so I was refunded £32.
I posted about the above on this wonderful forum and was advised to phone head office - result a gift card for DTD winging its way as we speak
Give them a call
AS ABOVE
brought 2 of the tesco beef topside which should be 4.98 from 9.997
my store tried saying the 2 types of meat are different although packaging exactly the same
there was in fact 2 areas that had the wrong priced ones mixed in with the half price ones and the butcher said they should have been marked down
they manager said that one was a roasting and the other wasnt and would only do half price refund
then cs head office tried saying that they were different meats also and that mine wasnt in the offer
pushed a bit more and now getting a gc on its way
Glad to hear your news on gift card.
Assistant manager told me one was a roasting joint and that was the only difference between the two joints. As if the other one was to be cooked any differently!! Nearly said to him shall we pop to the butchers on the other side of the road and see what he thinks, identical product , same label etc.
