Whatever you get, make sure it fits you properly. Test as many as you can, from different shops and at different price ranges. Then narrow it down until you find 'your' bike. It might not be the one you went in to buy...It's only numbers.0

The Edinburgh Bike Company has some good offers,One bike was reduced a grand to £500. Look at Evans and Specialized as well.
Evans allow test rides, as far as I know The Edinburgh bike company dont allow you to take the bike out.(Well they didnt when I bought my old bike).
Testing is very important as only when you ride it can you tell if its exactly right for you.0 -
Likewise, I'm moving to Cyprus in March and would like to get into cycling with a similar budget. Especially with the sales at the moment.0

You will have to let me know what Cyprus is like for road cycling. I've just purchased a bike. The Specialized Allez 2012, can't wait to ride it.:j
Planning for my future early

I've just purchased a MTB from Pauls Cycles online, it was £70 cheaper than the next cheapest supplier for the same bike and a £170 cheaper than the RRP. The service was good - arrived next day set up. They have some good prices on road bikes at the moment.

Triban 3 is a wee cracker! I got it based on weight and price (and the French accent of the sales guy!!) have done 1000 miles on it and only 1 puncture! Just discovered my brother (who researches forever) has got same one!! He's a bit gutted that he's copied me inadvertently0
