npower price reduction

Not sure if this is the place to ask but I noticed some of you were saying you had received your dual fuel discount of £60. I joined npower in March last year and I have not been given my discount yet. How should I receive this - I joined on line through energyhelpline and pay by direct debit.
With my gas bill I received some money back as I had some credit owing and the amount I pay each month will be reduced considerably so assume some of this is down to decreases in the prices for gas? Some is due probably to having cavity wall insulation installed at Christmas. A card came with the gas bill and it said that "our gas prices are getting smaller - this means that from 30th April we'll be cheaper than British Gas for dual fuel anywhere in the country! Plus ........ then it goes on to mention the increase in the annual discounts.
I assume any decreases then will not included this annual discount - but may be that is not the case.
I would like to change if it would be cheaper but don't want to do this until I get my annual discount and understand the real tarriffs involved.0 -
Hi, Thought I`d relay my experience with npower,
Almost 12 months ago after using a price comparison site, I signed up with npower sign online v4, (it being the best deal).
Now when I use a comparison site it says I could save nearly £300 per annum if I were to sign up to `npower` sign online v7 !!!
I called npower to ask if I was on a `fixed tarrif `no they replied ,
obviously I`m not as I`ve had all the price increases but now that wholesale energy prices are tumbling I`ve had no decrease !
I put it to npower that they are making money under false pretences , every time there`s a drop in wholesale prices they just seem to come out with a new `sign online version` therefore avoiding passing on any savings to their existing customers ! I`m a sign online customer! why is my power more expensive ? they couldn`t give me good reason !
they also told me if I wanted to join `sign online 7 I`d have to leave npower then rejoin !!!
What a load of S**T !
To say I am livid is an understatement !
I feel totally conned and will definitely be leaving npower as soon as my 12 months is up and I`ve had my discount, I would strongly urge everyone to be very very careful if you are thinking of signing up with npower !0 -
I will definately be looking again once I get my discount - I joined in March and I am told to expect the discount on my electricity account next bill. Which comparison site did you use whaler?0

Hi mayb,
I used energyhelpline to switch last time, but I see you can get £50 cashback if you switch to powergen through quidco, they`re rates are very good as well !0
