Question

I plan to buy a house in the next couple of years and my ISA is 5.6% until June I think plus I don't have any regular savings accounts. Is buying a house possible?

I think a lot more information is needed before anyone can even begin to answer your question. Do you have a good deposit saved? Do you earn enough to qualify for a mortgage? just for a start.

    possibly :p

You might need to provide a lot more info and might be better asking on the mortgage board.

It is the amount of money you have for a deposit that matters not whether it is in an ISA or not.

Do you have at least 10% of the purchase price in savings?

thinley veiled "I locked in into a great fix term savings ISA years ago and no have cash ready to buy a house, but I still want to keep my money and have the interest cover the mortage repayments, though i'm pretending to be compleatly financially dumb and instead of doing my own research i'm comming on here because i'm to scared to leave the house and spend any of my savings" type thread.

    ... here is the answer...
I have encountered a similar situation and what I did is I spoke to a good broker specializing in bad credit history applications. He was the one who help me work things out to get my mortgage approved...
  • An interesting question indeed.:j Where and what are you thinking of buying?
