What problems?
you have both seen what?
What model of PC?Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
sorry
we have both seen restore back to factory settings on both our pcs but cant find it now
her machine is about 4 years old and its a time pc all i know is that it was bought out of woolworths but she has been advised to restore it back to its original state but we dont know how as we cant find how to do it
She has got serious problems cant go on the internet and it says a file is missing cant get e-mails in other words cant do a lot only put it on and get into programmes0 -
You cant do it from within windows, usually you need a CD/DVD or a restore partition (press a key at boot), not sure which method time use..
if you elaborate on the error messages, someone may be able to help without a restore.
or you could try system restore (start, help, system restore).Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
She needs to use the restore disk that came with her PC to get back to factory settings.
On a Dell PC there`s no disk---it`s partitioned on the hard drive.
Going back to factory settings is "a last resort"0 -
Hi i have a recovery disk(floppy)for my pc and were both running xp but i have a packard bell will mine work on her pc as she didnt get one with her pc
Thanks for your help so far0 -
I`ve been away for a few days hence the delay in reply.
No your floppy won`t work, she needs a proper recovery disk from TIME.
What is exactly wrong and why does she need to go back to factory settings?
Give this a try, click on "my computer"
right click on the "C" drive and select properties
click on "tools" and then check for errors.0 -
My Time PC had a hidden partition that could be restored using norton ghost (this is what time used anyway). so no need for the recovery disk.0

lisabee, best starting your own thread with the problem, most likely caused by other running apps (downloading?) or a carp isp (tiscali/tt/aol etc)Utinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0
