Future neighbor stealing electricity!!!

You could always go and knock on their door, introduce yourself as their new neighbour who's going to be moving in soon (they don't have to know that nothing's official yet) and ask that they unplug the lead. Their response will tell you whether to proceed with the purchase or not.0

Defo walk away and be thankful found out now.£99 Is nothing compared to an extension lead with 4 sockets powering 4 electric fires 24/7! You'll be paying £99 probably every quarter as your share.0

The fact that this is being suggested means walk away. Moving house is meant to better your life not have hassle before you've even moved in.0 -

We had this once before with a neighbour and they hadnt paid their electric bill and were cut off about about 8 months or so. They even tried to change suppliers but none would when the current utility company stated the situation. Their arrears plus a cost to reconnect etc was into the £1000s. I remember the girl who lived there coming round ours when asking advice to leave the fella and spilling it all out whilst crying. Seems he had a gambling problem.
They had the flex going from the communal into the flat under the door and had daisy chained loads of 4/5 port power sockets to power everything, poor soul she was, totally lost0 -
I'd be also concerned on a safety level. What are they using off one electric socket? Overloading can lead to fire.x x x0

Ditto. Firstly they are stealing electricity that presumably you will partly be paying for. But the fire risk is more important. And I wouldn't want to live in a flat where the fire risk is increased. what happens if the cord they are running accidentally gets snagged/torn/worn under their doorway? That's a strange karma to get mixed up with, moving into a block of flats where at least one set of tenants/owners is comfortable stealing.0 -
hang on a minute .I would introduce myself to the neighbour and ask if you can share the free /stolen electric for three days a week . As tesco say every little helps"Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many"0

Not worth it, if willing to steal electricty what else are they willing to steal? They are well aware that others are paying for it0
