Hi all
Please help with some advise, my son (14) has been given the middle rate care component, I'm currently on jsa income based and wonder if I can claim carers allowance? If I can, how does it affect my jsa??
Many thanks

You can claim carer's allowance instead of JSA which means you won't have to sign on etc. You may also be entitled to income support as a top-upLost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

You claim carers allowance then go on income support istead and get £104 a week. With the 2 combined.0

If you were to do this on JSA, you get an extra fiver a week, as your benefit is reduced pound for pound.
If you were to move to carers allowance, you can earn up to 100/week extra, without affecting your benefit.0
