But like i said before what someone does in their time away from work is nothing to do with thier employer legal or not. A test to see if they are fit to perform thier duties is absolutly fine, but not a test to see what they were up to a few months ago.
its an invasion of thier civil liberties in my opinion an opinion which i am entitled to as we live in a free country
so are you saying they always take a hair sample or is it a case of fail a swab/!!!! then hair to back up the result??
yep you are entitled to your opinion,as are the bus passengers entitled to be driven safely and not by some p1ss/drug head
oh, so not whilst in charge of the bus but the day before is ok?I

How long does it take the body to break down and eliminate all traces of all the various cannabis derivatives? The toxicology of alcohol is relatively simple and well documented, however there are different strains of cannabis with different makeups, strengths and increasingly often, additives. No longer is it a teenth of squidgy black being the only option, there are so many skunks being bred for extreme strength and trippiness which will have different profiles of time to be completely eliminated. Without knowing and being able to medically show a 'safe' time and level, is it safer to assume any amount/level is OK, or none? You see the point I am trying to make I am sure!
It is worth noting that there is constant downward pressure on the tolerated amount of blood alcohol for driving, it is only inertia that means it isn't also zero/near zero now.
It often also a correlatory indicator of someone who is prepared to stretch the law in other directions too, maybe an E at the weekend, maybe diving a bit recklessly, maybe something else. It is not by any means hard and fast, and stoners are usually too dull to cause much trouble (unlike drunks), but legally they have chosen to apply the law selectively, and this in itself is a warning sign for employers.
As for the Poppy seed thing, tests can actually be very selective these days once the cheap bulk screening is over to see who needs further investigation!0 -
That really would be taking the !!!!.Tiddlywinks wrote: »Are they really likely to be asking for hair samples though? It's usually just a urine sample for random testing.0
