Apologies before I start re posting this here but I cant find any appropriate forum !.
For an upcoming holiday cruise I need to take cash for tips. I normally buy my holiday money on line from wherever MoneySavingExpert suggests is the best deal but I cant order specific denominations, I have to have what they send. Can anyone suggest the cheapest way of obtaining 250 x $1 bills ?.
I assume I can purchase them at my bank with appropriate notice but if I am going to do that I may as well purchase all my holiday money (not just the $1 bills) from my bank and pay their high rates.

Even if you cannot get hold of 250 * $1 bills you will find the staff will be more than happy to break a $5 or $10 note if it is for a tipThinking critically since 1996....0

Hello, I think I understand. You can buy casino chips from the on-board casino for $250 and give tips that way0

your waiters, waitresses, room stewards, laundry staff etc., won't be able to use the casino chips - so pointless as tips. In all likelihood, they will end up trading them with gaming staff, entertainment staff who are contracted out - and not hired by the cruise company, for less than the value of them.
One way of getting great service the entire trip though, is letting your stewards know that you will tip them at the end of the cruise.
I used to work on a cruise ship - and the last night was usually 'tip night' - a great addition to the pot for being in home port the next day0 -
but. what if you forget to tip somebody who was esspecially pleasant and caring with you...0
