Travel insurance question

Options
Hi
I have travel insurance with my halifax ultimate reward current account.
I have a flight booked for next year that Is non refundable and also a weekend in Paris booked for new year.

I have found out today that I am going to be made redundant in March.
This is the 1st time i have had to deal with anything like this.

is this covered by the insurance? My husband has a well paid job but with our debts we will really struggle.

thanks

  • You need to read your policy. Some insurers will cover a dramatic change in circumstances but certainly not all.

    Looks like redundancy is covered.

Go to page 55 then 61/62

Could you try with budgetting the Paris trip.Presumably you will finish with a redundancy payment which might see you through to getting a new job, and dont forget, if youve paid your Ni you will be able to claim JSA
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

    thanks all,
I can probably manage the paris trip as i will still be employed until march but florida will be different as i will need a lot of money for the accomodation and spending money :(

I can't claim jsa as my husband ears too much and my redundancy will only be around £100! I have only worked for the company for 2 years and i only have an 8 hour contract!

If you have paid NI contributions you can claim contributions based JSA. This has nothing to do with what your husband earns.
