Waitrose and Ocado

I used to order from ocado regularly but in this area they have really gone downhill, had a number of incidences of them turning up hours late, rude surly delivery drivers, every delivery had several damaged items in, most deliveries had missing items and the last time I ordered they sent us a load of stuff we didn't even order by mistake and kept telling me to order again so they could collect it. I told them no I won't be ordering again for a long time so if they could come and collect and waiting for that was a rigmarole in itself. Unfortunately waitrose in this area are going down the same road, they used to deliver from the local store which they only extended 2 years ago to put a big warehouse in for that purpose. In the past few months though they have also started delivering from a big warehouse out in the sticks somewhere and consequently they started having missing items, sometimes every frozen item I had ordered, and the online one has less variety than in store. Also their drivers stopped being able to find our place. Am now going with Sainsbury they also come from a big distribution centre but have no problems finding us and their drivers are always polite, last delivery the lift was broken but the guy took it in his stride literally and managed to deliver the whole lot in under 2 minutes, was very impressed. Only drawback is the delivery charge but am planning to get a shop with a relative who spends £40 a week and we spend £60 so delivery is free then my OH can then drop off their stuff on the way to work xx0

I am not able to get to the shops for some years so I do all my shopping online and have done for years.
I have used Tesco, Ocado and Waitrose.
Ocado wins hands down, their customer service is second to none, they rarely have unavailable items, they have one hour delivery slots and mostly keep to them. Their drivers have always been helpful. Their website is good but the best part is the reviews of goods given by other users, I wish all grocery shopping sites did that. Basically it allows me to choose things that I know are going to be good. They pricematch with Tesco.
Tesco is OK, they often have out-of-stock items and are often late with their deliveries, their drivers are fine though and always friendly and helpful. You can alter your order up to about midnight before the day of delivery.
Waitrose seemed to much fuss, the last time I used them they kept phoning me several times to tell me things were out of stock (good customer service I know but a bit irritating) and the man who delivered was really old and I felt guilty that he had to walk up the stairs to me!
I love online shopping, it allows me to keep to a budget as I do not impulse buy. All the stores are good at refunding if you are unhappy about the freshness etc of an item.
