Purple, I was the same as you and it took me ages to sort stuff or find things I needed, got really frustrated one day and decided enough was enough, I started with the one in the kitchen cause at least there I had somewhere to put everything, then slowly I bought the cheapest files I could and the cheapest poly pockets etc and bit by but got it all organised, I took my time and just tackled a wee bit at a time , till now I have it roughly where I want it.
Your pile ain't going no where ... Just deal with it one sheet at a time0 -
Ohhhh El you've made me feel a bit more normal now
I think what did it for me was (and this was years ago) losing something really important (and sure I ended up having to pay for a replacement!)
I've recently had a sort out of my files as I did used to keep everything in a big yearly folder but there was stuff that I needed to look back on (eg mortgage stuff) that I could never find as it ended up spread over several folders
This type of stuff (mortgage info, ID, pension stuff, car reg docs etc are all in clear fronted plastic wallet type things & in a box file (there's never a lot to add for them so don't need huge files for them!) and it's a lot easier:)
Insurance docs (car, house, income, etc) are now all in one file together:)
Will probably tweak it again at some point!:o
As El says ... start with one thing at a time and then when that's sorted, move onto the next - I'm still not good at filing stuff as soon as I get itbut at least I know where it is (in tray on my desk!)

It's deff a case of having a system that works for you, mine works for me as I'm sure risings works for her
... I even keep my wage slips , never used to do this , then was asked a few times for copies of wage slips and I didn't have them, it was a whole palaver to get copies, so now I put them in a file just Incase I need them ( and since doing so have had to use that file twice so far )

mmmmmmm I want new folders now
I love the report files for things that don't have huge amounts of stuff (and are never going to) - eg my P60s (keep these!), mortgage docs, house & car insurance (only keep current ones), ID, car reg docs etc etc but they're a bit of a night mare to store
They don't stand up as they're flimsy .... some of them (house / car stuff) are in a box file which is OK but a pain to sort through to to find the one I want (but thankfully don't need this type of stuff often) and the others in an expanding file - which is horrendous to get them in / out of
Suggestions welcome:) - the only thing I can think of is standing them in a magazine rack .....Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Yay to the chicken stock and rice for the dog? Didn't know they ate it
Sorry your're feeling a bit yukky and no the weather doesn't help does it when you're not at your best. Still the fresh air might help you to feel a bit brighter?0 -
She gets rice basically to bulk her food out (and therefore be able to reduce the amount of dry kibble she gets) without adding too many extra calories - she's a bit prone to weight gain!
I'll be OK once I get out ... it's just actually doing it!:o
I've decided I'll go at 2:30 ...... there time set, I have to go then!:D
Ohhhh but the schools come out at 3:15 and really want to have done my walk & been into Mr T before then ..... will go at 2:00 instead:eek: better get my butt into gear then!:rotfl:

Confession time ........
I have been naughty ........ very naughty
So .... took Maisie to the beach (it was pelting down ) - mainly threw her squid toy thing around & she enjoyed it!
Popped into Mr T for a few errr *cough* essentials and I was naughty
I was up the aisle with the stationery in - to see if they had magazine racks (didn't think they would & they didn't;)) but they had Laminators  .... for £9.50 :eek:
I'm afraid at that price I just couldn't stop myselfgot a pack of pouches too - £1.95 (will try to see if I can find cheaper online but they'll do to start with).
So ..... total was £11.45 - feeling slightly guilty as it's def a want and not a need but ......Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

So ..... it really all went to pot in Mr T .... as well as getting the Laminator ... well, errr
You may remember how I wanted a coffee pod machine thing - that I thankfully talked myself out of :T
At the time, several people suggested a couple of the instant individual packet things you can get - well ... I was going up the coffee aisle when I remembered this and .... got some of the Ken*co 2in1 (I will add sugar but like to put my own in!) and also the Latte (were 1/2 price - 8 for £1.24)
Tried one of the latte ones when I got home (need to see if they're OKand may get some more while they're on offer!!) - and ...... they are actually OK :T - Will now put the rest of the box away & save them for work! (honest!!)
Obviously not as good as a "proper" one but will certainly do for work:j Now need to go back & get some while the offer's still on
15p each isn't bad - and actually even 30p each is still cheaper than buying the machine & pods!:DGrocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

I just have to say that ..... I'm impressed!:D
Have just laminated a couple of pages from the home binder (only 100% sure I won't change these ones!) and it's fab!
1 of them even had 2 pages in - it's temps that meats / fish should be when cooked so they're now back to back and can go at the front of the recipe section ... and save having a section to themselves :T
So .... thinking it was £11.45 well spent!
