Warning Ideal Extras

My mother was recently contacted by Ideal Extras, she was offered a months trail for a couple of quid. Being a good customer of Ideal World she decided to try it. A welcome pack came but there was nothing of real interest in it. Because of a recent bereavement she forgot to cancel by the end of the month and has now been charged £50.

Am well aware that she should not have not taken up the offer or given out her credit card details. But as an Old Age Pensioner she cannot really afford to lose £50.

Did try to contact Ideal World regarding this and they at first said Ideal Extras is nothing to do with them. They did change there mind a day later and said that Ideal Extras was linked to them, but as my mum had not cancelled by the end of the month she would not get her money back.

If you are contacted by Ideal Extras [Rocket Marketing] then just politely say no thank and put the phone done.

Well I have just taken a look at the offer and looks value to me for £50

However with it being Ideal World I do have my reservations as they are not known for VFM. I would suggest trying to take them up on all their free gifts your mum is entitled to and if there are more hoops or more costs asscotiated I would then try and claim breach of contract and get your money back.

I would think the free European trip would be the best place to start as a standard return trip would equate to anywhere between £10>, I think if anywhere this is where they will drag their feet or have more impled costs

That is not a bad idea. It was simply the fact that she has no real interest in the offers. It would of course appeal to some people. But surely money off, offers, reductions are available without paying £50 up front. Cash back for example.

Totally agree but their T&C's have you wrapped up and the only way you are getting your money back at the minute is to appeal to their better nature but I dont think that will happen.

At least try with the free european flight and book it maybe for a family member and if it comes through let them pay a contribution back maybe? If they drag their feet then say you signed up and their advertising is misleading

My Mother is going to use £5 off Ideal World and look at magazine subscription. As I am not able to see the welcome pack you has got I cannot do much until the Xmas holidays. Certainly going to run a total to get her monies worth.
