NOBO Electric panel heater (old)
Hi, the flat my girlfriend and I share has 3 storage heaters and 3 panel heaters. We use only one storage heater, as it does a good enough job for the living room, and one panel heater in the bedroom sparingly. The two panel heaters in the kitchen and bathroom never get used.
The panel heater in the bedroom looks like quite an old, earlier version, as I can't find any similar on the web anywhere. It hasn't got a timer, just an on and off switch with a kind of thermostat where you can slide the lowest and highest temperature up and down.
We only usually use this heater for an hour or so before we go to bed, to warm up the bedroom a bit, but I've noticed some mould/damp begin to creep up the walls and on the window frame above the heater.
What I want to know is, will it cost a fortune leaving it on most of the time on 16-18 degrees, rather than full whack for an hour or so a night. I think the damp will only get worse in this weather if we leave it.
Thanks

If you are on economy 7, then the heater will be running on cheap rate electricity during some of the night.
So, if you put it on at 11, and turn it off at 8, it would be running on cheap rate power from 12-7 (for example, times vary).
This would make it considerably cheaper.0 -
Yes I believe we are on economy 7. I will try that for a week or so to see how the damp changes.0
