2nd letter back and nothing...

Hi all
Well i sent my claim into Barclays... with the pack i sent, was the covering letter (thankfully downloaded from this site) an excel spreadsheet of all charges and copies of statements which totaled £4,350. This was sent via recorded mail on the 23rd March.
I received my first letter from Barclays stating there apologies with my complaint etc etc and i would receive an update no later than the 26th April.
Well today i have received my second letter... this is what i have been told..
"I apologise for the delay in providing you with a full responce to your complaint and thankyou for your patience whilst we continue our investigtion. Unfortunatly we remain unable to respond fully to your concerns at present. However, we will contact you again as soon as possible, and certainly no later that 23rd May."
Seems to me like im being takin down 'the grden path' and found this letter completly unacceptble.
What should i do now ? do you think its now time to start court proceedinds ?
Any help greatly appreciated
