This is the sort of thread that bugs the life out of my on MSE.

OP! I can see what you are saying, their website is not secure, so if they can't even secure their website how can they "secure" your money and details.

27col over 4000 posts and I bet the large % are just to post the "tosh" just to have a go? I think you should get out more.

It's a shame isn't it? I posted to show how unprofessional PayDay Pig are, and all I get is "are you posting to show your knowledge/lack of knowledge on computer security?".

My comment was taken completely the wrong way.

This is literal gibberish. You are gibberising*.

Stop using the speech marks - and also, that last sentence is monumental.

I could not take a co called Payday Pig seriously anyway.

Maybe they are trying to invoke a sense of being like a piggy bank?
Mind you, I'm with you; daft name.

Are you just trying to show off your technical knowledge. Because that's how your post comes across.

Are you trying to show off with your post count and stars? You come across as someone wanted to be a keyboard warrior when there are far bigger battles worth fighting. Jerk.

Oh my, got up someone's nose there, I think.
Tell me about these bigger battles and I'll see if I want to enlist in your army.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

Currently 4579 posts and I'll bet 80% of them have nothing of any use to anyone in them.
  • Sharpy, your original post doesn't come across very well.

I can understand your hatred of being spammed by them, that's all very well - feel free to post that.

However, then trying to pick fault in their professionalism because they have a simple typo on their website is wrong. You're trying to imply that missing out an '8' in some descriptive text might have a relationship to their security procedures. It simply doesn't. The SSL they're describing is something that is implemented between the client browser and the webserver. Neither of which will have been developed or implemented by the company. It has nothing to do with how they themselves store/encrypt/manage their data.

As such, your making that link and stating that they're unprofessional and probably insecure for that reason is completely wrong. That's all.

    Fair comment.

Perhaps they're as professional as the day is long.

Must admit though, due to that pretty bad mistake (and the relentless spamming), I wouldn't use them if I was considering a PayDay loan (which I'm not).

The name Payday Pig alone rings alarm bells, and the interest rate 36% a month is high even by PDL standards.
