Having been spammed to high heaven by these fools I decided to look on their site to see if there was an unsubscribe button (not that I ever subscribed to their junk in the first place).
Of course, there wasn't, and nor were there any contact details whatsoever that I could use to have a rant at them.
However, what i did notice is that on the 'How it works' page, they quote the following -: "Submitting an application is both discreet and secure because we use 12 bit SSL encryption technology. To complete the application process simply follow these steps:".
For the less technically savvy, SSL is a type of encryption to keep your data safe. Now, we ALL know that keeping data safe is of paramount importance. What concerned me was that PayDay Pig are either using 12 bit SSL (does it even exist?) to 'safeguard' customers data, or they meant to say 128 bit SSL. If they meant to say 128bit SSL, but can't even get the name of it right, can they actually make such a complex encryption algorithm work?!?!!
Maybe I'm being anal, but these people seem thick as pig muck...

Are you just trying to show off your technical knowledge. Because that's how your post comes across.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -

Surely the purpose of the thread is to highlight how annoying PayDay Pig are. I also get endless amounts of spam from them, and yes, it is tedious.
Haven't you got a spam filter?"There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -

A "little" knowledge is a dangerous thing. He's clearly read a few buzzwords and jargon which he's trying to regurgitate back to look geeky and clever, but doesn't have a clue how it actually works or to implement it.0 -

That is what I was thinking."All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered, the point is to discover them."

The applicants never read the terms and conditions, why would they bother reading the security notice anyway?0

Does it matter? The risk of your information being intercepted as it travels via the Internet is vastly exaggerated. There's a far bigger risk that it'll be snaffled at the other end.
However http://thepaydaypig.com is just a scam front-end (affiliate) of http://ahia.co, which doesn't appear to be working.
Your antenna are right to be twitching, but they're doing so for the wrong reason.
128 bit SSL encryption doesn't guarantee the (technical) compentacy of a company.
1/10 for effort, though. :rotfl:0 -
