Composite/GRP Front door

I currently have a wooden door, in a wooden frame of course. It's a standard size 1981x838mm..
I'm looking to have it replaced with a composite GRP door in dark brown (to match the window frames). All I'll be having done is the door (inc. furniture and locks) and it's new frame, no sidelights or toplights etc. Usual design, 2x glass panels at the top half.
Any ideas what I should expect to pay for supply and fitting?
I've chosen this particular company as they have been recommended to me by my grandparents who recently had their whole house done; windows, doors etc and said the service they received was excellent. I also have a cousin who is a builder and recommended this company as he uses them to do all the glazing on his buildings.
This company were able to give me a rough quote over the phone, didn't pressure me in to anything, allowed me to initiate the calls and came to my house when invited, measured up, gave me a quote and left - didn't try to sell me anything extra, didn't get me to sign anything there and then etc. They allowed me to walk around their show room without one of their reps hassling me as I did so.
To me this makes them a lot more trustworthy than the likes of Everest/Anglia/Selfstyle who regularly knock on my door (despite a sign telling them not to) and try their pushy sales tactics on me. They all refuse to give even a rough price without sending somebody out to give me a free 'quotation'. I once agreed to one of these free quotations for a door and ended up with a bloke at my house trying to sell me allsorts and then leaving in a strop when I wouldn't buy anything.

I think there are a number of different options you can choose from that will make the difference on the cost of the door you are looking for. I'd guess it would be about £800 - £1000 for the supply and fit of your door. You could try using www.doubleglazingontheweb.co.uk as you can enter in what you are looking for. It gives a cost online without having to speak to a dreaded double glazing salesman!
The company you have spoken to sound good though. If they didn't pressure you and gave you a rough cost, although I guess it depends on what cost they gave you!0 -

Well, surprise surprise ! Everest have the best products but you will pay more. You will get lifetime guarantees on most glazing, 25 years if you sell on, A+10 thermal rating, that's how good they are. Anglian is mid-value and cost, they don't age well, have lower thermal ratings normally "B". Safestyle is cheap , but not very cheerful - only buy this if you want something shiny new in the house to sell on, but then the new buyer will probably suspect the whole house will have problems - not just the windows ! I do up and manage a lot of properties, I get to see the difference. Get the Everest ones if you can afford them, the A.S.A. says they are clearly the best.
You might be lucky with a local company, but normally they just buy a budget spec from a local trading estate. Just because someone is nice on the phone and your granny likes them doesn't mean the windows and doors are actually any good ......0 -

What a load of rubbish everest and safestyle fit the same profile with slightly different mouldings and beads and its not even one of the top 8 frames .Anglian fit or used to rehau which is in top 4 and how you can say smaller companies fit a budget window is utter rubbish we fit profile 22 which is owned by the epwin group who also own swish ,spectus to name a few at the end of the day its down to the fitter and there are better installers than fitters at everest ive had some work for me in the pastif you think peoples advice is helpfull please take the time to clicking the thank you button it gives great satisfaction0
