We are about to take over self-management of our private street from the professional Management Company that has for years been charging us a fortune, doing a minimal job, and generlly not been worth employing.
They have been given notice and will shortly be transferring to us the money they hold, and thereafter we will collect the annual charges from each house ourselves, and pay contractors etc as needed.
Barclays have offered a year's free banking, but then an annual charge plus a charge for every cheque written.
Does anyone know of a bank account where we will not be charged?
