Barclays CPP mis-sold advice

hi
Was wondering if anyone could give me some advice/information.
My father has been with the barclays for 10yrs+ and about 3 yrs ago he had to start paying £30 a month for a card protection plan CPP on his current account. Not a credit card account just normal debit card account. He was told it was something he had to have in case his card was lost or stolen or used without his knowledge.
Anyway when I found out about it I told him he did not have to have it like he had been told. He called cancelled and put in a complaint about it saying he was forced to have it and has never sign or agreed to have the insurance.
After weeks of the looking into it they have told him that he agreed to it in branch and have closed the case.
We have asked for proof of this agreement many times and they have never sent anything.
They are now saying they have closed the case and that is it. We not agreed to their outcome.
What can we do next??
can we claim for refund like PPI???
any help would be great
Thank you for taking the time to read my thread

First of all, are you sure it was just for card protection, and not for the account as a whole, where you'd typically get things like free [!] travel insurance or something like that.
Secondly, if it wasn't for the account itself, then card protection should be covered anyway, without you having topay £30 for it, so find out exactly what you were paying for.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
Thank you for reply. It was just a card protection nothing else did not cover anything to do with the account it was just everything you are covered for without having to pay a monthly fee. That is why I made my father ring up and cancel but he had always been told he had to have it he told he had to have it with his account otherwise he could not have the account.0
