Problems with a discount I'm owed

I am shipping, not buying or selling, and I'm not making a profit either. And yes, all these people are my friends, hence why I'm doing it in the first place.
So thank you for your replies but it's becoming apparent there's not the solution I was hoping for, so I'll leave it there.0 -

Well as they are your friends.
Just charge them what the item price should be. Plus your P&P charges, as i guess you usually do.
Not sure how you can say "not buying or selling". As the goods are coming to you and then you are sending out. Even if you are doing it for no profit. HMRC will have their own view on this.
At the moment that leaves you with the funds to cover the retailer error. Which I'm sure at some point someone will realise and then take payment.
You are not ripping your friends off. But are ensuring that you don't come unstuck when the company come a chasing their money.I need to know exactly what I'm going to be charged before I contact my buyers or I risk being out of pocket
I really don't see the point of the post, as its clear you know the true item cost. Yet want us to guess at how much you should charge your friends....Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -
Well, I hope HMRC agree with you. Sounds very much like you are trading to me - you say you are not buying and selling but are buying from a supplier and refer to your friends as "customers" more than once.
HMRC will not give a fig whether you make a profit or not - if they class you as trading they will expect you to register as such. If you do it on a scale (and I'd say 20 people on a regular basis is sufficient) you would be better off clearing it and registering as self-employed to minimise the risk to you.Thinking critically since 1996....0
