Just because complaints go to the FOS doesn't mean the banks has lost. Statistics on resolved cases are roughly about 50:500 -
I would strongly urge you not to accept the cheque but to send it back and tell the bank that you feel the payment was derisory and an insult to you. Tell them that you want to escalate the matter.
Send it back recorded delivery.
How can you make such a suggestion in the absence of any knowledge about the size of the investment, and details on what the dispute is about?0
