I would go for the above at scan. I know it is 50 more but xbox360 have had problems with their motherboards going faulty and people have been getting charged a £100 to replace this.0

Few things about those offers. On the Dixons offer, that's 2 games, one of which I don't want, for the price of 3 ones I do.
Scan. Well, where to begin with Scan. Starting with the fact they took my money and didn't deliver to items I bought, and I had to threaten them with TS before they repaid me. And the fact that it is £350. And that they are no more reliable than eBay (The seller promises return for faults with no timelimit, plus basic 12 month warranty). And again, only 1 game there I am interested in (I played PGR on my cousin's '360 and it is a snooze-fest).
Nah, I appreciate the effort you went to looking for these deals, but I think I would rather pay a damn sight less and go with a trusted eBayer than pay through the roof and go for a shop.0 -
Check you're paying for a UK PAL system by the way. If you're not, most games will probably still work (check before buying though), you might need a different power supply and your DVD region might be undesirable.
Most likely though your seller is getting them from Germany and they're fine.0 -
I've been into consoles since the Vectrex and Intellivision were popular, and I would say that although consoles don't break too much - its better to buy them somewhere that you have an easy return. I'd find it highly unlikely that a 360 would break within the first year of use, but is it worth the risk? As soon as you have left ebay feedback, the seller doesn't care what happens to your item.
Having said that, the 360 is an easy piece of kit to fix yourself as long as you have a case unlock tool and some Torx screwdrivers (a fairly specialist size 7 and above if I remember right)
I'd also hold off until the new premium 360 comes out (the black one) because the standard ones will likely drop in price.Throwing acid is bad.... in some peoples eyes...0 -
I would be wary of buying off ebay as a warranty cannot be sold on so if you did have a problem you may find yourself stuck.
The seller can promise you the world but remember that after 60 days there is nothing you can do to get your money back.0 -

Loads of the 360 games are region coded, and the DVD player side of things won't play R2 discs if it's a US or Jap import This site is useful.0 -
The xbox 360 is notorious for failing search for ring of death in google and you will find "a few" people with a comon problem.
I know 7 people who's xbox 360's have failed, 1 person who is on his 7th console.
Statutory rights mean the retailer should provide you with a working item, but most of them fob you off to microsoft as their retunrs is pretty good but the supplier should sort it not microsoft. After the 1 year warrenty is up Microsoft charge £80 for a replacement. It usually takes 7 days from sending to receiving a replacement you don't receive your unit repaird they just turn them all round and send them out.
I would buy from a shop not ebay as the seller wont take it back at all, you will need to deal with microsoft if they do they will want you to pay for postage.
I dont belive you will get that deal anywhere. maybe you could phone a few games shops, game, gamestation or maybe you have an independant games shop they are always more likley to offer deals like that.0
