please can anyone help me::
My partner works 45 hours a week, and we have a 18month old daughter, i am thinking of going to work and putting my daughter into a nursery... i am currently getting CTC but not WTC...
I have been on the hmrc website and filled in their 'Do i qualify' thingy and it says that i would get about £6990 per year for WTC & CTC. but does this mean i would not get this money until next year as they work a year behind????

They work a year behind in terms of basing your claim on your income - eg this year's claim is based on last year's income - so if you went back to work this year and needed help with childcare you could get it as soon as you started work. But don't forget that NEXT year the tax credit people will base your claim on THIS year's salary so you'll get less tax credits because you'll have earned more this year than last.0
