I'm actually surprised that BHS is still going, it doesn't seem to be doing very well? Store near me has reduced from 2 floors to one...and their Christmas stuff is really samey every year now....and they seemed to knock it all out with nothing left for the sales!! :D
Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!

Have to be honest and say (only because the customer service in BHS has been mentioned) that I went instore the other day and the queues were huge! We waited ages and there is only one checkout point in the whole store (Cribbs Causeway, Bristol). I was surprised as I hadnt realised the lack of checkouts before. Also, I feel that their xmas gifts are really overpriced this year, there is no way I would buy any of them unless there is some sort of offer or glitch on!
    Anyway, rant over:p

yeah I went into my local store (Coventry) afew years ago during a 30% weekend and it was clear there wasnt enough tills. I was in there 10am picked up my stuff and started queueing straight away, the tills then opened 10:30am and it was madness. I also agree about some of the items being over priced. I brought 2 coca cola items of Amazon the same as they sell for half the price. Its cute things but £20 for a baked beans pan and spoon...nah not for me!

Bhs were awful last year, kept advertising items as 'in stock' when they had none.
I can't believe that a large company doesn't have some kind of stock control system in place and even more that it happens every year.
I'll buy in store if they have a discount day, but after last year I'll never order online from them.

I ordered shoes for my son in there earlier in the year, I kid you not he'd had them 5 days before they started to come apart, and they weren't cheap. They did refund me, but all the same, they use to be a quality brand :(

I will never shop with them again. I ordered clothes for my son a couple of years ago. On delivery a couple of items were missing oos and they had refunded me for the missing items but not the full amount that I paid.

I phoned and emailed several times but have given up after 2 years waiting for the refund to process.

You were very lucky because the same thing happened with a pair of shoes I bought for my Daughter a couple of weeks ago. Within the first week the sole started to come off and when I contacted their cs i was told they were occassional wear shoes and they would not refund me. I am absolutely disgusted with them.

That's terrible. I'd be asking for a legal definition of "occasional" to find out whether 10 uses (5 x school & backs) counted. I did actually get mine on an offer here and I got £10 off for buying school wear etc and they didn't even look at that, they just said £21 shoes - £21 refund. Take them in to the shop and complain rather than through CS.

I can't stand BHS, their stuff is so dreadfully overpriced and when I go in my local store it feels like I've stepped back into the late 80s despite it being a brand spanking new store!

The place has really gone downhill in the last few years, I wouldn't be surprised if we hear they've gone into administration not too far into 2013!

  • Won't use BHS either. I bought the groupon £20 voucher for a £9 spend at the end of summer and the code wasn't accepted. CS 'couldn't help' and said the code was invalid. £9 lost, along with my custom.
