Buying a present for £1

I'm going to a party and everyone has to bring a gift but not spend more than £1. Since we don't know who's getting it, it'll have to be suitable for a guy or a girl. Everyone going to the party is student aged - probably between 18 and 25. It also can't be Christmas themed or be food related. I also cant get a lottery ticket as I told my friend I wouldn't steal her idea. I'm trying to think of something original or unusual but can't come up with anything so far :-P
