£1 presents (all different) for 16 people

Hi All,

We have quite a large family who all do secret santa with a budget of £25. Over the years it has become less and less a secret santa and more of a write down what you want and it will be bought.

I decided this year that we needed to add a bit more fun to it and have come up with idea of doing £1 presents where everyone is given a number and then goes up to pick out a present.

All the presents will be in the same size boxes so no one is any the wiser.

However I need to come up with 16 different presents for £1 (including any delivery).

So far I've come up with:

Scratchcard
Santa washing up gloves
Santa Apron
Chocolate
Mini Torch
Hopefully some touch screen gloves
Mug with hot choc/marshmallows
Candle?!

Any ideas would be really really appreciated! But as mentioned it cannot cost more than £1 with delivery and must be different to the others.

Thanks!! x

There was a thread the other day I think on the relationship thread called 50p gifts...a guy doing an advent calendar for his girlfriend...lots of ideas there...

    Here it is

frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

    2017 toiletries challenge 179 out 145 in ...£18.64 spend
  • Pound world has manicure sets, various make up, hairbrushes, toiletries all suitable for the ladies.

Calendars or diaries for either gender and range of age groups.

    Socks, thinsulate hat, for men.

Bud style ear phones, may suit younger family better.

Various stationery, not just from pound shop. Tesco had flamingo hardback notebooks with spiral binding a couple of weeks ago, reduced to 50p. Pens are often quite cheap from Wilkos, Home Bargains, etc.

Home Bargains often have odd bits and bobs very cheap. Recently I've bought a personalised key ring/bottle opener for 39p, flowered bookmark for 19p, mini puzzle for 29p, and books from 59p.

Pound stretchers have bed socks for 99p, or 3 pairs for £1.99 and they're very cozy, wash and tumble dry well.

Me and my friends did this a few years ago. We all liked quite crafty fun things, and there's loads of those that you can get from various pound shops, home bargains or wilkinsons.

What I do sometimes is buy three gift sets of different things for £1 or less, then open the packaging and repackage in my own cello (I bought gold stars on clear cello, massive roll for £1.50 last year and it's still going!) and add a nice bow. I do this with little soaps, bath bombs, scented candles, chocolates, basically anything you can buy a quantity of and share out.

Poundworld are doing a gloves, hat and scarf set for £1 for kids - I bought one for my daughter for nursery and it's good quality especially at 33p each. They also do kids character slipper socks.

For women, Poundworld sell pretty bracelets, or earring and necklace sets which are actually quite nice as costume jewellery. I put these in organza bags which I save, but you can get them for pence on eBay.

Mini selection boxes are 79p in Home Bargains, so say one of those and another small item would be nice. For 79p I bought a teddy with a santa hat on (about the size of your palm) in a christmas gift bag, it's originally Tesco stock.

My local Poundstretcher sells Cath Kidston style mugs for 49p, so one of those with a few (free sample!) Twinings Tea bags and a gingerbread man (home made) would come to under £1.

Try B&M Bargains, they do a 'make your own gingerbread house' set for 49p, so you could make that, and cello it. (Can you tell I love cello!!!)
  • Packets of seeds, to enjoy all year.
  • Poundland have some really nice mugs in at the moment, as well as insulated travel mugs too.

They also have boxes of After Eights in at the moment, or boxes of Malteasers.

I also picked up a table snooker game in there too which might be quite fun.

You could make a good batch of biscuits for £1 I should think- Christmas spiced biccies would be good and could be rustically wrapped in greaseproof.

Isn't it amazing how many ideas have come up on this thread? Just goes to show what you can still get for £1!
