Tesco Leappad 3 for 2 - not!

Maybe I'm over reacting but this really annoyed me - I thought it was misleading...
Looking for a specific game for a leapfrog leappad ....look at usual online retailers and all about the same price (£15) but under all the hits for leapfrog games (approx 200 and they are all more or less the same price) at Tescos there is a red 'view special offers' tag/link
Hoover over it and for the first few pages of games it says 'buy 3 leappad or vtech innotab software and get the cheapest free' and 'I am in the clubcard exchange' (which they all have on their item pic anyway)
Fantastic I think - can always put extra games away for birthday/treat - and go to swap my clubcard vouchers...
Then put game I want and 2 others in basket, sign in go to pay and realise one is delivery only (£3) - oh well still a bargain - and then the 3 for 2 hasn't been applied - wonder if it need to continue purchase before it will come up - but already put card details in (for £3 delivery) ...so go back and look at the games again - and the one I want -does have the red 'view special offers' flag - but if you hoover over it only says 'I am part of the clubcard exchange'....
It is a new game - but another new game IS part of the offer...they are all about the same price - and the few that aren't included in the 3 for 2 are listed at the end of the results.....and now I am stuck with the toy vouchers and ended up using them for the game because otherwise I'd lose them ...(and having got so far into the purchase sure lots of people would have just got them anyway - rather than go through the hassle of finding elsewhere etc...).
I know this is my fault for not checking properly - BUT surely the special offer should be 3 for 2 on SELECTED software....
(And Argos have a deal buy one get one half price - out of stock at moment but that would have been cheaper if you couldn't do the clubcard exchange...)

How did you select the games? I just went through the 'view special offers' link and it only brought up 2 pages, so I assume only the games on those pages are included?
Did the rogue one you chose have the red 'view special offer' link on it and was it on the special offer pages?Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
Hi think that was the problem - I was looking for a specific game...not what was available
The game wasn't on the special offer pages - (didn't find those till later -didn't realise it was a link really) -
Most annoying is it did have a red special offer flag - the special offer was ...that it was part of the clubcard exchange.....
I think if there are pages of similar items, at similar prices and you click on a few and they all have the same special offer - it is a bit sneaky to have the same layout - but different offer....and the special offers info could be clearly written on that page - without needing to hover over with a mouse to view....
But I guess my main grip is that it is doesn't say 'selected' or even 'some' ....0 -
It might be worth giving them a call and asking if they will honour the offer, it is very confusing when you have to hover over each item to check exactly which special offer applies.
I was looking on their site for food flasks earlier and found I had to check each one to see which offer applied. It wouldn't be so bad if there was an alert before you checked out, they manage it on the grocery site if you've missed a 3 for 2.
If you're polite and and word it like you're doing them a favour drawing their attention to how misleading lots of people may find it they may give you a goodwill gesture, has to be worth a try.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
no such luck - spoke to their customer services cos wondered if it was a mistake - and just got a 'if its not in the offer there is nothing we can do' ....so I did say I thought it was misleading - they told me to email to complain -which I guess I should do ...
Surprised cos Tesco stores customer services have always been really good..
The agent was not v. helpful -maybe having a bad day - should have phoned back later to try and get someone nicer..0
