IVA Ended-what to do next

My IVA ended in september but i still had to contact one of my creditors and make them take the default off of my account (this dropped off on the 6yr anniversary)

I have checked experian, equifax and callcredit and there is nothing on my file and all say good credit score. I have applied to capital one and barclaycard for a credit builder card and have been declined by both and no idea why

I have spoken to equifax and experian and they cannot see what would be wrong.

Who else can i talk to to get guidance??

cash plus do a prepay credit card that rebuilds your credit score without going into debt - some cards are just being exceptionally strict at present so a good score doesnt mean you will qualify they want a excellent score! I got a vanquis card it easier but rates are poop but if all you want is increase your score go for it - but remember keep applying will affect your score too!

Hello, does the IVA show on your file at all, i.e. is it still on there, but marked as "completed"? It should drop off 6 years from the date that you started it.

If there is no record of it at all, and all of your defaults have now dropped off, it may well be that you are in effect starting from scratch again.

If your intention is to get a credit card to try rebuilding your credit history and you are going to make small purchases which will then be paid off in full, try the Vanquis or Aqua cards - the interest rates are extortionate, but if you are not going to be carrying a balance with them it doesn't matter as you won't be paying any interest.

if you do decide to go down the Vanquis route, apply via https://www.topcashback.co.uk as they often have cashback deals for accepted applications.

Just remember not to make too many applications in a short period of time - any more than 3 in 6 months starts to make you look a bit desperate.
