I am looking to move out with my boyfriend possibly to a 2 bedroom flat. We have both lived seperatley for 2 years but neither of us have ever had to pay seperately to rent it has always been all in. I need to work out how much rent we can afford and to do that I need to get an idea on how much others pay on their utilities in a month?
Any ideas?
Thanks

If it hs gas central heating I'd suggest. £25-30 /month for electricity and around £35 - 40 /month for gas as a budget. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

If you budget for £100 a month you should be okay, I would always over estimate, any change is a bonus.
Talk to the companies, dual fuel is often cheaper and also if you pay by DD.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Definitely agree to over estimate.
I reckon for the 2 bed £100 is probably your upper limit unless you like to walk around in t-shirts and have electric heaters instead of gas central heating.
I'm paying £140 just for gas for Nov, Dec might be closer to £200 and Jan similar (all depends on the temperature). Elec always stays between £20 and £26 so evened out over the year i tend to pay around £100 p/m for both. In summer bills fall to around £20 for each. (Gas is hot water / gas hob).
It's a 5 bed detached but quite new and i have the heating on from 6am - 11pm but only around 18c.0 -
Thanks guys for the advice!
I will definately be over estimating everything I do not want to be ending up short at the end of the month!0 -
Don't forget water charges as well.0
