Tile cutting service

Does anyone know any firms around the Watford area that offer a ceramic floor tile cutting service?

I ask as I have 3 tiles that need cutting at an angle and a standard tile cutter will not do.

I'm loathe to buy an electric tile cutter as I don't know how much use I'll get out of it.

Thanks in advance for your help

Even if you could find someone to do it you'll probably have to pay for at least half a day. They will need to be done on site.

Hire one then or borrow from a friend/neighbour.

Or look on Ebay. I recently moved and decided to sell an electric tile cutter I thought I'd be unlikely to use again. I put it on Ebay & it went for about £25. The guy who bought it was well pleased as it had only been used a couple of times.

If you bought a previously used one, then you could always sell it on when you were finished with it.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.
  • I reckon if you find a local tiler and meet him on one of his jobs when he has the tools out he will do it for minimal charge. I know I wouldnt mind

Thanks for the suggestions - I assume some tile companies don't do it as there can't be much money in it!

Take them to a local tile shop (an independent, not a chain retailer). Preferably the one where you bought them.

hire an electric tile cutter will be cheaper than paying someone to cut them plus if they cut them wrong, you mark them wrong or you break them on transit back to your house you will have to find someone to cut them again
