So, I have won an iPod touch - yeh me.
im forces and it was part of our annual Christmas Draw. thing is there £1000s worth of kit. Several TVs, IPads, Other Pads, 3 IPods, Speaker Systems etc etc etc.
Thing is - there are no reeipts as the whole "prize pot" was purchased at one place as one transaction. We have been told if its faulty, bring it back to the organiser and they will arrange a replacement. My question is - Im due to leave this Christmas (and Im using the IPod as a pressy for my son) so I wont be here to return it. Also what happens if it goes wrong 6 months down the line? I dont even know which shop it was purchased from (and obviously dont have any proof of purchase).
so - If the worst happens - what do I do and who do I deal with?
Im guessing I register the product with Apple and Im good to go (as their actually quite good about support from what I hear). I do wonder what those with Samsung Pads, or Panosonic TVs would have to do.

As you havent bought the item yourself your rights are heavily restricted as the SoGA protection is only for those involved in the actual contract of sale.
Apple however are very good with dealing with their faulty goods irrespective of where they were bought from so as you say, simply by registering it will probably remove your issue0
