Hi I run a business web based in the uK and get a lot of Fiverr.com gigs done for me. I was wondering if on my VAT return I can claim back vat on these transactions? It is a USA based company

Are they charging you VAT? If they are, they have to show it on their paperwork/account statements, if needs be, email them and ask to confirm.
Fiverr.com may have a UK VAT registration but I seriously doubt it would, the website seems very US centric and the T&C's which I've read through only make referecn to USA addresses and contract law.
When you do a gig for a customer, how does it work exactly? It looks like people and business buy services off other people and businesses. I guess either way the place of supply of your services (being web absed) will be where the customer is based and if they are all US custoemrs then your sales will be outside the scope of VAT with the right to recover your input tax.
I wouldn;t reclaim any VAT on your fiverr.com fees/costs unless your are 100% sure there is VAT being charged.Anger ruins joy, it steals the goodness of my mind. Forces me to say terrible things. Overcoming anger brings peace of mind, a mind without regret. If I overcome anger, I will be delightful and loved by everyone.0
