what does she want to do on it, if something like the ability to play the sims 3 (a popular game with girls) then the above ones wouldnt really be the best

so something like this http://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/Packard_Bell_EasyNote_TS11_1263503.html would be better due to the better intergrate graphics included on the AMD A series processor, if however graphics power is not required then intel processors do tend to be better (and the ukhotdeals one is better than the tesco one linked)

otherwise have you considered refurbs, as places like argos's ebay store has refurbs with a full 12 month warrenty that come in as new condition for a reduced price when compared to new
