Reclaiming PPI from Barclaycard

I had made a claim more than a year ago, and after much delays with them, they finally contacted me in Feb of this year to say that my claim had been rejected. I was going to contact the Financial Ombudsmen to take this one step further, however, unforeseen circumstances within the family meant I had put it off and I haven't found the time to take it to the ombudsmen. What I would like to know, is can I still take the claim to the ombudsmen even though it has been more 3/4 of a year since I was rejected, or should I make another claim through Barclays?
Thanks in advance for your advice.

You need to contact FOS and tell them the circumstances that prevented you from taking this further, depending on the reason they may let you do the complaint about the rejection through them, the reason will have to be a good one though.
No point going back to Barclays as they have rejected and will do so again.
