wholesale "fake" goods, help settle an argument

I'm having a bit of a heated discussion somewhere else about fake goods being sold or not as the case may be, online to hapless customers who really should know better. I've said that they should try legit retailers such as m&m direct or asos for the real deal but at reasonable prices.
One person seems to think the facebook "retailer" buys from wholesalers. Am I right in thinking that companies such as Ugg only supply to certain traders and that anything else out there is a knock off?

Ugg would be best placed to answer the question, but it's worth pointing out that buying something on Facebook has fewer safeguards and for that reason, would involve a higher risk than alternative on-line retail outlets."The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing.

Some B&M legit businesses do have a Facebook presence, but it should be obvious if this is the case. Mainly though, I'd say fake, especially with Uggs. They don't supply internet-only retailers as far as I know. They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0 -

Not any riskier than, say eBay, so long as you pay via PayPal.They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0 -
If someone is selling ten pairs of Uggs then they've either fallen off a lorry or are fake. Designer companies do sell wholesale, however you will be looking at having to buy tens of thousands of pairs and have a business turnover of at least a few hundred thousand a year before they will touch you. They don't allow people to buy a handful and flog them on ebay as a none registered seller breaking every trading law there is. If a company is a well established and reputable firm then they could well be selling the real thing.0
