Advice on Buying a Portable Radio (DAB) / Music Player

Options
Hi

I'm hopeless when it comes to all these new fangled ways to store/play music and I'm just after a bit of advice.

Me and OH are going to start to go camping and we're wanting to buy a portable radio/cd player type thing so we can listen to music when we're away. I bought a radio/cd player last week but the radio reception was really poor so took it back and got a refund today. Had another look round re what was on offer but I don't understand and here's where you come in ;)

I saw some DAB radios that had a connection for an MP3 player, there were no DAB radios with CD players attached. Can I save my CD collection onto an MP3 players (I've not got one of those yet though) easily and will it just plug in and play.

Has anyone got one of these? Any advice and/or recommendations would be really great.

Thanks

Ms Choc xx

DAB is a bit heavy on the batteries, and might not work everywhere.

I was thinking of getting high powered rechargeable batteries for it if that would help. Alternatively, can anyone suggest what I need to look out for in terms of getting better radio reception.

I also don't understand the difference between a digital tuner and an analogue tuner with a LED display.

Digital is an overused word in the electronics industry, and can have different meanings depending on the marketing department.

my guess would be they are both analogue radio's, and digital may have a couple of buttons to scan up and down, and analogue with display may mean a thumbwheel to do the same thing.
