Firestone Rubber Flat Roofing - Any Good?

HI All,
I've got a problematic bay window on the 1st floor of my 3 story 1910 house which forms a flat area at the front of my house. It was completely replaced about 4 years ago but has recently started leaking again, with water dripping from the 1st floor ceiling of the room the bay is in.
I'm now looking at my option for getting it fixed or replaced and a local roofer says that the Firestone rubber roofing system is very reliable and guaranteed for 20 years, with the membrane good for 50.
The bay is obviously not very big and I recall that it cost £600 to reroof it last time (with a conventional roof). How much would I expect to pay for a rubber equvalent? Is this a good option?
Many thanks for your help
Mr O

EPDM is eminently DIYable - even more so on a small area.
I've no idea what it would cost to get someone to do it for you though. Labour probably similar to felting plus bits.

Yes EPDM is good and is easy for DIY can get easily online now and comes next day in the post, however I would never use it over felt without some sort of decking between as EPDM is black and the heat in the summer will melt the felt under it. Also I would never use it on a roof that has not got insulation in or on it as the room below will get very hot in the summer0

At work we have just had a large flat roof on an office building done with the Firestone System. This replaced a twenty year old fibreglass roof, which had replaced a felt roof before that. We also had the plywood sheets replaced as where the fibreglass had cracked water had damaged some of the sheets. The rubber system is meant to be more flexible and so wont crack. It's only been up a few months so can't report on how it's performing long term, but we did go and look at a few installations that the contractor had done and also got samples of the rubber sheet. Hopefully it will last at least the 20 years specified.0

EPDM is the worlds most common single ply membrane, over 1 billion sqm's have been laid worldwide in climates as extreme as Alaska and Saudia Arabia it is also vapour permeable which means it doesn't sweat underneath unlike Butyl rubber.0

Just had my bay roof done with Topseal GRP roofing system. Cost £700 and comes with 25 year guarantee. So far so good.0
