British Gas Confusion

Hi All

I live in a shared flat and we paid our last bill by each paying in 1/3 of the total to the Online account number that British Gas sent us. However now they are saying that they are missing 1/3 of the bill. We are sure we have all paid and have tried to find out which payment has not gone through, but they are refusing to tell us the account numbers which they have received payments from. I can understand this due to security reasons. An alternative that we have come up with is telling them the dates the three payments were made and then they confirm which is not there, but this is also not acceptable.

Can anyone come up with an idea of how to find out which payment has gone missing? We have all paid out the money and it has left our accounts and all gone to the same account, so we really don't know where the problem is.

Bank statements? If not on paper how about calling the banks? They should be able to find your payments.

thats the thing. All the payments have gone into the same account at british gas. They are claiming to have only received 2, but we have proof that all three went to the same account at british gas
