Fake Ice Watches

Just a heads up really for anyone buying these for Christmas. I've just come back from Egypt where these watches are everywhere and can be bought for £3.
eBay is flooded with them at various prices so be very wary what you are buying. The fakes are VERY good at first glance coming in lego style money boxes with the bags etc but amusingly its the back of the watch thats the give away where it says 'DESIGNED BELGTAM' which should be Belgium lol.
Personally I'd say if you are buying one as a gift this year get it from the high street

Incidentally, if you are NOT bothered about authenticity, then the fakes are quite good. Wife has one that cost about £3 from ebay and its still going strong after nearly a year. Looks identical to an ICE, bot without the ICE logo, and it feels a bit lighter (she has a genuine ICE as well - uses the fake when she's mucking out her horses etc.)

I bet there are fakes of every type of watch on ebay. For example, the Casio F-91W - a genuine one can be got from amazon for around a tenner and there are hundreds fakes of these on ebay. Everything is worth faking, to some people.0

I'm certain there is, oh came back with a Rolex but these are more expensive at £20. I've never seen a fake watch at £3 like the ices though and consequently tourists had armfulls so I suspect there are a lot more fakes of that particular brand than any other at present.0 -
Been to turkey recently and they have shops that proudly announce they sell 'genuine' fakes, lol. Apparently its to do with the movements - the cr4p fakes have cheap chinese movements, and the 'genuine' fakes have better quality japanese or even sometimes swiss movements. These 'genuine' fakes, can be surprisingly good quality and are about £30-£50. I bought an automatic Panerai for £30 and it's superb (real ones are £4000-£5000+)

OH's Rolex Deep Sea is a perfect replica, the only way to tell its not genuine is to take it off and closely study the back of it. I agree some are exceptional quality and last for years. I'm not adverse to buying fakes as long as I know thats what I'm getting0 -
A facebook selling page has been flooded with them, the seller wouldnt answer questions on the open page about the authenticity of the item lol. Also fake ugg winter boots with a solid sole, which tbh I was tempted by as they look nice but i dont need more shoes lol0

I came back from Sharm with half a dozen pairs of converse, £5 a pair both high and low tops. Having compared them side by side to my genuine pairs I can't see any difference there whatsoever. I guess time will tell if they wear as well but for a fiver I couldn't resist.
I hink I'd have been tempted by good fake Uggs as well though.0 -

The thing that probably dissuades me from fake Uggs more than anything else is the fur, I've heard claims that the fur can be anything from dog to goat or just plain old synthetic.0
