If we're on a decent EDF tariff (fixed until 2014) in our rented house, and we are buying a house that also has EDF as the existing supplier, how best can we transfer our own fixed package over to the new property, whilst ensuring we still have accounts for both properties during a 3 week overlap?

You don't 'transfer' accounts.
You have an account on House 1, with EDF, which you end the day you sell/end the tenancy.
You open an account on house 2 with EDF, which you start on the day you buy/start tenancy.
If there is an overlap, you have two accounts running in parallel fora few days/weeks.
Same with your council tax etc.0 -

Yes but you can "transfer" your price plan when you move, so how does it work? Do I open a 2nd account with EDF at the new house for 3 weeks and then, at the end of my tenancy on the old house, cancel the new account and move my old house account on to the new house?0 -
Since that would be an EDF-specific product option I suggest the best people to ask would be........ ?????
Not necessarily, if I'm missing something I could end up losing my tariff. It's not in their interests for me to keep it. I'd like to be clear about how the process works before I call them up.0 -
