Need help with warantee on washing machine

Hi.
My washing machine has been making a strange noise all week and then today it stopped spinning.
I have a 5 year parts and labour guarantee on the machine which I bought 4 years ago.
The trouble now is that I can't find the guarantee and I bought the machine off one of the electrical retailers on the internet and I am not sure who I bought it from.
It is an LG machine and when I looked on their website it said that you will need the date it was purchased (which I'm not exactly sure of) an where it was purchased from.
Can anything be done if I don't have the relevant documents.
Thanks.

To be honest if you are unable to supply date of purchase and where it was purchased from you really havent a hope.Wins: Feb - Sam and Amanda DVD, Nanny Series, £50 Mother Day Goodies box0

I suppose you've checked your bank account and credi card statements - you can order copies if you've thrown them away. The best things in life are free.....or at least discounted!!!0

Thanks,
That's a good idea.
I haven't kept them but I still have the same bank account that I used so I will try that.0 -
matphil,
you could try calling the manufacturer armed with the serial number of the washing machine. I work for a different manufacturer of whitegoods but our policy is to honour the warranty if serial number shows that it was made within the 5yrs. the s/n will tell them the date of manufacture, worth a try.0 -

Hi.
Just tried this but they said they wouldn't do anything without the warantee number.
Thanks anway.0
